This week Meta pushed AI agents to businesses of every size, Instagram made paid reach for lives simple, and WhatsApp gave parents control over teen accounts.
[Meta] Meta bets on AI agents for businesses big and small
Meta launched Muse for Small Business, an AI agent that works toward goals an owner sets, like finding customers or growing sales. It links to Instagram, Facebook Pages and Meta ad accounts, plus tools such as Shopify, Canva and Stripe, and needs approval before it publishes, sends or spends anything. A day earlier Meta created Meta Enterprise Platform, a new unit selling its AI agents and models to large companies, led by former MongoDB chief CJ Desai. Muse for Small Business is live only in the US and Canada for now.
What it means for brands in Egypt and the GCC
Meta is moving from selling ads to selling agents that also run the ads. When this reaches MENA, small clients will be told an agent can do what an agency does, so we need to show clear value in strategy, local culture and creative. For large Gulf clients that already serve customers on WhatsApp, the enterprise unit is the one to watch for Arabic customer service agents.

[Instagram] Instagram turns live streams into ads with one tap
Creators and brands can now boost a live video straight from the live composer. The ad runs only while the stream is live and appears in Feed, Stories and Reels. Boosts can be planned ahead with at least two hours of notice, using a chosen or suggested audience. Before this, promoting a live meant building a campaign in Ads Manager.
What it means for brands in Egypt and the GCC
Live selling is growing in Egypt and the Gulf, and the hardest part has always been getting people into the stream. A small, timed boost now fixes that. We should build a live boost playbook for White Friday and Ramadan, with budget per stream and a clear hook in the first minute.

[WhatsApp] WhatsApp gives parents controls over teen accounts
WhatsApp added optional parental controls protected by a parent PIN. Parents can decide who sees a teen's profile photo and who can add them to groups, and they are alerted when the teen joins or leaves a group or when a group grows a lot. They can also limit Channels, Status and Meta AI. Messages and calls stay end to end encrypted, so parents cannot read them.
What it means for brands in Egypt and the GCC
WhatsApp is the backbone of brand communication in Egypt and much of the Gulf, so changes to who can reach teens matter. Expect regulators in the region to point to tools like this. Brands with young audiences should move away from growing big groups and focus on Channels with content that is clearly safe for teens.

[LinkedIn] LinkedIn builds a proper marketplace for B2B creators
LinkedIn is testing Creator Discovery in its Creator Marketplace, with filters for content type, industry, job function, audience demographics and Top Voice status. General availability is expected in early 2027. LinkedIn says 63% of B2B buyers now rely on creators early in their research. It also reports Thought Leader ads get far higher click rates than standard image ads.
What it means for brands in Egypt and the GCC
B2B creator marketing on LinkedIn is becoming a paid channel with its own tools, and early movers will get the best creators at lower cost. For B2B clients in Egypt and the GCC, we should map the top local LinkedIn voices by sector now and pilot Thought Leader ads with their content. Waiting for 2027 means paying more for the same people.

[Reddit] Reddit locks down its data: RSS ends and API goes fully paid
Reddit will end RSS feed support on 13 November 2026. All public data access moves to its paid Developer Platform, removing free access for approved developers. Reddit says RSS had become a major route for scraping and abuse. The move is part of a wider push to protect and sell its data, including to AI companies.
What it means for brands in Egypt and the GCC
Any monitoring or listening tool that reads Reddit through RSS will stop working in November, so audit client setups this month. More broadly, platforms are treating their content as paid AI data. That makes owned channels and first party data more valuable for brands, and makes free scraping a weaker base for any insight work.
