What drives the cost of social media management?
Two agencies can quote very different prices for the same number of posts. The difference is usually in the work behind each post. These are the main cost drivers.
| Why it changes the price | |
|---|---|
| Number of platforms | Each platform needs its own formats and sizes. Facebook and Instagram share a lot; TikTok and Snapchat need native video. |
| Posts per month | More posts mean more writing, design and approvals. |
| Video vs static | Video needs scripting, shooting, talent and editing. It costs more and usually performs better. |
| Shoot days | Original photo and video shoots add crew, location and equipment. |
| Community management hours | Replying to comments and messages daily, in the evening or at weekends adds staff time. |
| Languages | Arabic and English content for Egypt and the Gulf doubles the copy work. |
| Ad management | Running paid campaigns needs a media buyer, tracking and testing. |
| Reporting | A monthly report with insights and a review meeting takes senior time. |
What do social media packages cost in Egypt?
We did not find a credible public survey of agency prices in Egypt. The ranges below come from our own market experience.
| Typical scope | Monthly fee (EGP) | |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | 1 to 2 platforms, mostly static posts and carousels, light community management, simple report | EGP 7,000 to 18,000 |
| Mid | 2 to 3 platforms, a mix of static and short video, daily community management, monthly report | EGP 18,000 to 40,000 |
| Full | 3+ platforms, video first, shoot days, influencers or UGC, community management, paid media management, strategy and reporting | EGP 32,000 to 63,000 |
For a global reference, WebFX, a US agency, puts typical agency social media management at $500 to $5,000 a month (WebFX, 2026). That reflects the US market, not Egypt.
Is ad spend included in the price?
No. Ad spend is the money you pay Meta, TikTok, Snapchat or Google to show your ads. It is separate from the agency fee.
Some agencies charge a fixed fee to manage ads. Others charge a percentage of ad spend. Ask which model is used, and make sure ads are billed to your own card or account.
Plan ad spend from your goal, not from a round number. Multiply the leads or sales you need each month by your expected cost per result. That is your starting media budget.
Our usual ad management fee: a fixed monthly fee of EGP 9,000 to 72,000, set by how much you spend. For Gulf clients, 9% to 22% of ad spend.
Freelancer vs agency vs in house: which is cheaper?
| Monthly cost | Good for | Watch out for | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freelancer | About EGP 1,500 to 5,500 (KF Agency, 2026) | Small brands, one platform, simple content | One person rarely covers strategy, design, video, replies and ads |
| Agency | See the packages table above | Brands that need a full team and video | Check who actually works on your account |
| In house hire | Glassdoor lists a median of about EGP 16,000 a month for a social media manager in Egypt, plus social insurance, tools and equipment | Big brands with daily content needs | One hire rarely covers design, video and media buying |
Glassdoor's figure is based on about 50 user reports, so treat it as a guide. A real in house team usually also needs a designer, a video editor and a media buyer.
How do you avoid paying for the wrong package?
- Start from the goal, then pick the scope. Do not buy 30 posts if 12 strong ones would do.
- Ask for posts per month by format: static, carousel, Reel or TikTok.
- Confirm how many revision rounds are included.
- Check whether shoots, talent, music licenses and influencer fees cost extra.
- Confirm community management hours, including evenings, weekends and Ramadan nights.
- Ask for a sample monthly report before signing.
How we price at OneKind
- We start with a short audit of your pages, ads and competitors.
- We agree on the goal and the KPIs: sales, leads, app installs or awareness.
- We build the scope from the goal: platforms, formats, shoot days, community hours, ad management.
- We price the retainer on that scope and keep ad spend separate and transparent.
- We review results every month and adjust the scope up or down if needed.
For Blue Bus, one full scope plan covered content, a video series, influencers, UGC and media buying. Ticket sales grew more than 30% in 12 months, and one TikTok video reached 4.9 million views.

Glassdoor lists a median of about EGP 16,000 a month for an in house social media manager, based on a small sample. Agency packages start from EGP 7,000 to 18,000.
Is it cheaper to hire a freelancer or an agency?

No. Ad spend is paid to the platforms separately. The fee covers the agency's work only.
How many posts per month do I need?
We find most brands do well with 12 to 20 strong posts a month plus Stories. Quality and video matter more than volume.
Why do social media package prices in Egypt vary so much?
Prices change with platforms, post count, share of video, shoot days, community hours and ad management. Two packages with the same post count can mean very different amounts of work.
